Our Current Project

We are currently undertaking a community action plan within Sooke School District at Spencer Middle School.  Our goal is to create an accessible sensory garden space for all students to enjoy.  We will transform the front benches into an area that will foster social interactions, be a space for self-regulation when needed and will connect students with nature.  Our garden will have a special focus on celebrating local Indigenous culture, diversity, inclusivity and connections with our environment and culture.  It will offer opportunity for learning in sustainability, local food growth, composting and inquiry all inline with the new BC Curriculum and the Earth Charter Initiative.  We will work closely with community members, businesses and school families and will offer the chance for student led projects.
